7:02 PM (SAT SEP 13 2025) ...  Evanston firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a drowning and near-drowning at 2611 Sheridan Road Evanston. Report of two people in danger in the water. Police first on the scene reports the drowning incident call for help is bona fide. UPDATE : Two victims treated and released, one victim pronounced dead at the scene. Fire command reported that three people were in the water. One was a citizen rescuer of a second person who was unresponsive on the beach with CPR being administered. A third person was missing under the water surface. A MABAS Dive Box was immediately activated, and a CFD helicopter was assigned to the scene. Operation switched to recovery mode.
